Pennsylvania Lottery Games
The Daily Number is a game played twice per day. In General the player must match 3-digit numbers in order to win a prize. However the game is versatile as there is more then one way to win the game with different odds. A ticket costs from 50 cents to 5$ and if a player matches the number the prizes are won accordingly. The game is played in 5 ways. The basic option depends on the player to choose its 3-digits number.
When the drawn number matches the players chosen winning number both in numbers and order the players payout will be 1 to 500. The boxed option also requires the player to choose its number alone and winning is made when the numbers are matched regardless of their order. Payout will be lower with 1 to 80. However if the first 2 left digits match, order inclusive, then the payout win will be 1 to 160. The options of Front Pair and Back Pair require the player to choose 2 digits correctly either matching from the back (right to left) or the front (left to right). In any case the payout will be 1 to 50.
The last possible option is called the Super Straight and the tickets cost 3 to 6 times the regular fee. The player chooses any 3 numbers and the system plays all 6 combinations, even if one of the digits is a replica. The payout for winning the Super Straight is 500 to 1.
Big 4
Big 4 is a 4-digit game, also played 7 days a week, twice a day. Ticket fees ranges from 50 cent to 5$. It is essentially the daily number played with a 4-digit number. Big 4 is played only with straight or boxed option. When playing straight the player's payout will be 5,000 to 1 if he matches all 4 digits in their drawn order. When playing Boxed the player can win from 200 to 1 up to 1,200 to 1, depending on the number of matched digits and their order.
Cash 5
Cash 5 is played once per day all weekdays. The player chooses 5 numbers ranging from 1 to 43 (until recently it was up to 39). A ticket costs 1$ per game but a player can purchase a week worth tickets a head of time. A player wins the jackpot with a starting sum of 125,000$ when all 5 numbers are guessed correctly, otherwise the sums rolls over to the next day. All prizes are paid cash. Cash 5 has 4 prize categories. The first category, the jackpot has a guaranteed minimum of 125,000$ and the maximum sum is about 67% of the tickets sale minus the sum of all forth place prizes. If more then one player wins the jackpot, the jackpot is distributed among the winners equally. The second place is won by matching 4 out of 5 numbers and has a fixed prize sum of 250$. Third place prize is also a fixed sum but of 11$ once a player matches 3 out of 5 numbers. In the last category, a player matching 2 out of 5 numbers awards the player 1$.
Match 6 (6/49)
Match 6 is a typical lottery game of 6 by 49, meaning the player picks 6 numbers ranging from 1 to 49. The jackpot has a minimum of 500,000$ and is rolled over once no player succeeded in matching all 6 numbers correctly. There are no limitations on the number of rollovers; the game is played until the jackpot is won. Unlike regular lottery games, the match 6 has some tweaks. First of all, free of charge each player receives 2 additional computer generated lines of numbers. These lines are designated as Combination play (as oppose to Basic play). By matching 3 to 6 numbers from each line or in combination with the other lines, the player is awarded additional prizes accordingly.
