Kansas Lottery
The state of Kansas operates the Kansas Lottery, which is a member of the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL). The state offers various games that include Powerball, scratch tickets, Super Kansas Cash, Hot Lotto, and Keno.

- Nov. 1986 - The establishment of a state lottery in Kansas is approved by 64% of the voters.
- Nov. 1987 - Tickets sales began in 21 cities during kick-off events and the first instant scratch game had sales of Million dollars in one week. This game was called Up and Away.
- Aug. 1996 - The Cash Lotto game was dramatically changed by the introduction of the Kansas Cash Game.
- Oct. 2002 - Kansas and 13 other states start the Powerball Instant Millionaire Game Show that features a Kansas player on every show. The show has second-chance drawings for trips to Las Vegas and a chance to win Million dollars each week.
- January 2009 - A .76 Million dollar jackpot is claimed by an employee of Spirit Aerosystems in Whichita after matching all numbers on the Hot Lotto game. Belle Plaine is the fourth individual in Kansas to win the jackpot for Hot Lotto since Kansas joined the Hot Lotto group in March of 2006.
- February 2009 - A Kansas resident, A Stilwel, claimed the .6 Million dollar Super Kansas Cash jackpot by matching all the winning numbers during the February 7, 2009 drawing.
